Radio listeners in the UK have dug deep to ensure Help for Heroes (H4H) is given a huge sum from a fundraising campaign.

Real and Smooth Radio has announced the total raised through its latest scheme has topped £1 million and all the cash will be used to help wounded servicemen, reports the Drum.

Programme director at the radio station John Simons has handed over a cheque for the seven-figure sum to H4H co-founders Bryn and Emma Parry.

Mr Parry said: "The generosity is simply wonderful and we say thank you on behalf of all the service men and women they are helping."

All of the stations with the Real and Smooth Radio network have been supporting the charity since 2009 and a special Help for Heroes Day is held each year.

Mr Simons added that listeners have shown a desire to support the charity and their donations will make a huge difference to the lives of ex-servicemen.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801538829-ADNFCR
