The Royal British Legion (RBL) has held a Christmas-themed event to thank all of those who raised money for the charity during 2012.
A number of celebrity endorsers – including Tamsin Greig, Susan Jameson and Michael Jayston – turned up at the Guildhall in London for the traditional Christmas Celebration.
Carols, seasonal music and words of celebration were among the activities laid on, while classical four-piece All Angels performed several festive numbers.
BBC journalist Frank Gardner and ITV News host Alastair Stewart hosted the event – which was spread across two days – and around £178,000 was raised through donations and raffle tickets.
The RBL's head of special events Teresa Greener said: "This was another wonderful year for the Christmas Celebration and so many of our supporters consider it to be the best possible start to the festive season."
All of the cash collected will help the Legion assist current and ex-servicemen and women.
