An armed forces member is taking on a monumental challenge in order to raise cash for Help for Heroes (H4H).
Phill Rowe is going to cycle 600 miles through Mexico next month in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the military charity, the North Devon Gazette reports.
Mr Rowe, who is an RAF senior aircraftsman, will have to battle intense heat, jungles and a mountain range in order to be successful.
The 27-year-old has been in training for the challenge for a while, after hearing damage he sustained meant he was not allowed to go on a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
"I wanted to do my bit and when I found this trip raising money for H4H I took it to my boss and he told me to go for it," Mr Rowe stated.
He will be one of 25 people hoping to complete the challenge and it is expected to take them eight days.
