RAF Flight Lieutenant Rachael Cadman, who is attempting to complete the Arch to Arc triathlon, has paid her respects to fallen soldiers by stopping off at a memorial.

Ms Cadman is participating in the Enduroman challenge that has only ever been completed by seven people and she has already run 87 miles from London to Dover.

In an update from the RAF published yesterday (August 22nd), she had swum three-quarters of the way across the English Channel, but before leaving the UK she called at the Battle of Britain Memorial close to Folkestone.

"I had always intended to stop at the memorial for a time, I am an RAF officer and could not have missed the chance to pause a while in such an important place," Ms Cadman said.

She claimed this move was "entirely fitting", given that she is aiming to raise money for Help for Heroes and Shelter Box international disaster relief by participating in the triathlon.
