Members from RAF Benson are hoping to raise money for injured soldiers by tackling an endurance race.
The team are to compete in the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland and the cash generated will be donated to the Help for Heroes charity.
They are hoping to replicate their achievements of last year, when the group of ten (including two non-RAF Benson friends) collected more than £11,600 after competing in the Munich Marathon.
After being overwhelmed by the generosity shown by friends, family and strangers, the fundraisers claimed they wanted to try something a little more challenging this year.
The group is to head out to Switzerland on September 9th in preparation for the contest, which is taking place two days later on September 11th.
It was recently revealed a family of seven – including two sisters, their mother and four children are to walk up Snowdon to help raise funds for the Help for Heroes cause.
Those wishing to make a contribution to the cause can do so here.
