Two pub managers have completed a 28-mile run and raised over £3,000 in aid of Scotty's Little Soldiers.

Alex Turner and Jake Smith jogged between the two bars they work at in order to collect money for the military charity, the Lynn News reports.

However, the pair had to travel two miles further than they expected to after taking a wrong turn.

Mr Turner told the news provider: "Both Jake and myself are from military backgrounds and wanted to do something. The run was easier than we expected, but we did suffer for a couple of days afterwards."

He added he was happy to collect so much money for the good cause.

The charity was set up by Nikki Scott after her husband was killed on a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

It seeks to help any children who are affected by the death of a parent who was serving in the British Armed Forces.
