A group of pub-goers have stripped off to raise funds for forces' charity Help for Heroes.

Locals at the Red Lion pub in the Parkgate area of Ellesmere Port in Cheshire agreed to bare all for a cheeky calendar when landlord Terry Sharpe suggested it might be a good way to raise money for troops injured while in action, the Ellesmere Port Pioneer reports.

Mr Sharpe said: "I was amazed at how many people said, 'OK, fine.' The group shot over the pool table is the best! It was freezing. This is the first and last time I'll get naked!"

The idea for the calendar – which is to be launched at a fundraising event on Saturday (November 20th) – came about after one of the pub's barmen Lewis Wilby headed out to Afghanistan with the Irish guards.

Costing £10 each, it is hoped the saucy snaps will, along with a £5 contribution from each of the pub's New Year's Eve tickets, raise a total of £5,000 for Help for Heroes.

Elsewhere, 30 ladies from Dumfries and Galloway recently posed in a nude calendar shoot to generate cash for the charity, the Dumfries and Galloway Standard reported.
