Help for Heroes stands to gain in a particularly unusual way, after being given a film by a production company.

Teesside firm Thousand Yard Films, which is run by Luke Statter and Sam Driver, has handed over a 20-minute movie documenting the Hero Ride from London to Edinburgh, which took place in May, reports the Journal.

It has been donated to mark the opening of the new Phoenix House recovery centre, which has been built at a cost of £10.7 million in Catterick, North Yorkshire.

Mr Statter said: "It was an incredible event to be part of as some of the riders were multiple amputees, so to be able to capture their determination, as well as the camaraderie of the team, was a real privilege."

A gala premiere of the film has been held at the recovery centre, and it will now get on with its primary role of supporting wounded and injured servicemen and veterans from around the UK.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801624591-ADNFCR
