Prince Harry plans to support soldiers by completing a special expedition alongside a team of wounded servicemen.

He will undertake a 200 mile walk to the North Pole in a bid to raise funds for Walking With The Wounded, with BBC One filming the trip.

The prince is the charity's patron and he says: "The funds that Walking with the Wounded will … make a life-changing difference to injured servicemen and women from our armed forces."

All members of the team will be taking their own equipment and supplies to the North Pole and will have no back-up vehicles or doctors.

Afghanistan veterans will be embarking on the mission with Prince Harry, all of whom have suffered life-changing injuries while being on duty, the BBC reports.

The royal will be joining the team for the first leg of their trek, which is set to begin this month.

He may well be keen to make it back in time for preparations for the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, held on April 29th.
