Prince Harry gave out Green Berets to soldiers in Devon recently after they completed their commando training. The Duke of Sussex wore a proud smile has the two dozen Marines ended their final 30-mile trek. He Has been the Captain General since 2017.

“This is an enormous privilege for yourselves to get the green beret. I am fully aware of how lucky I am to be wearing the green beret without doing what you’ve done,” he said at the event.

The training itself is fierce and no average person can make their way through it. Our Marines spend 32 weeks training before they can make the 30 mile march with their 45 pound load of equipment. The Marines are given only eight hours to clear the last stage before they can get their hands on their very own Green Beret.

The exercise gives us an interesting insight into the hard work that goes into becoming a Royal Marine. Blood, sweat and tears have nothing on our soldiers.

This isn’t Prince Harry’s first effort to mingle with the Marines. Only a few days ago he travelled to Norway for the 50th anniversary of Exercise Clockwork. In the coming time, we expect his involvement with the Royal Marines to grow.
