Prince Charles is showing his support for soldiers in a meeting being held today (July 22nd).

He and the Duchess of Cornwall are holding a reception at their Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire.

The Prince of Wales will meet members of the armed forces who have been wounded in action during the last couple of years.

And the troops will also be joined with their families and carers at the royal event.

Invitees include those from the Parachute Regiment, The Rifles, The Royal Dragoon Guards, The Mercians and The Gurkhas, the BBC reports.

Staff who helped to transport the soldiers back from their operational duties will be among those welcomed at the reception.

Prince William and Kate Middleton recently showed their support for members of the armed forces during their US royal tour, when they met both UK and US soldiers at an event staged by Service Nation: Mission Serve.

The Duke of Cambridge spoke officially and said the event was one of the most important engagements during their tour.
