A new tattoo designed by a body art expert from Shrewsbury could be the driver for hundreds of pounds of fundraising in aid of Help for Heroes.

Steve Davenport, who runs the Severn Ink tattoo studio in the Shropshire town, has come up with a poppy design that he hopes customers in the region will choose to have inked on their bodies, reports the Shropshire Star.

It will cost people £20 to have the poppy added to their skin, and all of this cash will be donated to the military charity.

"We have only done four so far but we have raised about £500 in deposits in two days. There is another £500 to come from that when people come in to get it done," Mr Davenport explained.

The tattoo artist revealed he came up with the idea of the poppy tattoo after the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich last week, and it has so far proved very popular.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801592303-ADNFCR
