A number of young police cadets spent several hours over a recent weekend collecting money for Help for Heroes.
A small group of adults joined ten youngsters from the Volunteer Police Cadets to rattle their buckets in the Debenhams store in Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon, reports the Wimbledon Guardian.
Jade Cavanagh, 14, who is one of the cadets, said: "I have really enjoyed helping the team for such a great cause and welcoming local shoppers."
In total, the group managed to raise about £1,200 through donations and the sale of wristbands, badges and other items.
Another cadet, 14-year-old Holly Dugard, said: "Help for Heroes does so much good work. Merton Cadets are proud to have supported this event."
Debenhams has recently taken part in a national partnership with Help for Heroes that has seen money raised for the charity in many of its stores.
