Bikers from Plymouth have helped support the military by raising money for Help for Heroes.

Local newspaper the Herald reports around 300 motorcycle enthusiasts gathered along the Hoe Promenade for the Bike Night event last week (September 2nd).

The night raised hundreds of pounds, meaning over £3,000 has now been generated by riders in the area for the charity, which aims to help wounded members of the armed forces.

Dave Thompson of Protyre Gupa-P – one of the sponsors of the event – told the news source it was "one of the busiest nights so far".

"Help for Heroes is a very good cause and we're happy to support them," he remarked, adding: "Many of the riders are in the services themselves or they are ex-servicemen."

A variety of events have been taking place throughout the country to raise cash for Help for Heroes and Twickenham will be hosting the Heroes Concert on September 12th, where it was recently announced Gary Barlow will be joining Robbie Williams on stage to perform the pair's new single.
