Photo ‘is vital’ with online dating profile

The photograph is the most important part of any online dating profile.

This is according to personal dating coach Peter Spalton, who noted that people should not be afraid to update this throughout the year.

"In the summer you want a photograph in a summery top and in the winter you want a photo with no leaves on the trees and a scarf or something," he added.

Mr Spalton thinks a head and shoulder shot is best if individuals are looking to show off their faces and they should steer clear of posting pictures with other people in them.

While individuals do not necessarily have to pay for professional photos, it is a good idea to get some taken specifically for the purpose of a profile page, the expert remarked.

Time also needs to be dedicated to writing a few snappy paragraphs to go alongside the picture, as people should look to be engaging and interesting.
