A group of eight personal trainers have completed an 11-mile obstacle course to raise money for an armed forces charity.

The participants from Forfar and Arbroath collected over £3,000 for Help for Heroes (H4H) by undertaking the challenge, the Forfar Dispatch reports.

Carey Allen was one of those people taking part and she stated: "We tackled underwater and underground tunnels, walking the plank, artic baths as well as electrocution, fire and falling from great heights. We managed to complete the event as a team."

Part of the reason Ms Allen wanted to raise cash for the military charity is because her husband has been injured twice while serving on the front line in Afghanistan.

She added the challenge to clear the course had been as much a mental issue as a physical one.

Charity boot camps and a barbecue were also held in an effort to boost the money they received.
