A couple who were originally penpals have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Barbara and Robert Taylor wrote to each other for two years as Mr Taylor was serving in the Royal Navy, the Oxford Mail reports.
However, once the pair met up they clicked and have lived in the same house for the past 53 years in Littlemore.
Three children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren later, the Taylors are still very much in love.
However, his wife did have to deal with the fact that Mr Taylor served in the navy for 14 years from 1944.
"A friend of mine … asked if I would like someone to write to. She gave me Bob's address and we started writing to each other while he was abroad," Ms Taylor said of how the two came to meet.
She added the secret behind their success is that the pair always go on nights out with each other so they are never apart.
