Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has revealed he puts potential dates through a bizarre audition process before going out with them.
The ex-Newcastle star said he asks ladies whether they are regular users of websites such as YouTube and Google – and if they are, he dismisses them.
Gascoigne explained the reason for this is that any woman who is web savvy is sure to have read about his past problems with alcohol.
"When I talk to a girl, I ask her do you have Google or YouTube and if they say yeah then … 'well it was nice meeting you'," he told Daybreak.
The football star may well be wise to give online dating a try, as this offers users the chance to question members of the opposite sex in a relaxed way prior to meeting up with them.
Online dating is also ideal for getting in touch with people who would otherwise have remained unknown.
