A passenger plane coming in to land at Glasgow Airport last December came within just a few hundred feet of a UFO.

The aircraft in question was flying over the Baillieston part of the city when its pilot spotted a large yellow and blue object that he described as being "bigger than a balloon".

He was flying at about 3,500ft at the time and the object was said to go directly underneath the plane, with the two getting to within about 90 metres of each other.

An official inquiry into the incident has been unable to ascertain what the item may have been or how it had ended up being so close to the passenger jet.

The pilot told the Glasgow Aerodrome Controller upon landing: "Wherever we were when we called it in it was within about ten seconds. Couldn't tell what direction it was going but it went right underneath us."ADNFCR-2867-ID-801580090-ADNFCR
