Over 40 people have taken part in the Ride of Britain fundraising tour.

It saw the group cycle 500 miles from Edinburgh to London in just five days, the Boston Target reports.

All of the money raised by those taking part in the challenge will go to SSAFA Forces Help, which provides assistance to over 50,000 veterans every year.

Craig Paterson was one of three injured servicemen to take on the bike ride and he praised the help provided by the military charity during his rehabilitation.

He took part in order to say a big "thank you and to help [SSAFA] continue their amazing work".

Every person on the Ride of Britain has committed to raising at least £1,300 for the good cause, which means there could be upwards of £50,000 collected by the endeavour.

Fundraising and events manager at SSAFA Laurena di Bello said she has been "pushed us to the limits of physical endurance" by the ride.
