Online daters have been told they must be willing to offer their most personal insights on the world when it comes to writing their profile.

Dating coach Laurie Davis, who helps people in New York find love, spoke to the BBC about the "evolution" of online dating in the last five years and explained how many people need more information to make the most of the process.

She noted some individuals are guilty of treating online dating in the same way as they would a shopping spree on Amazon, but it is in fact far more important.

Ms Davis also advised online daters to open up and to reveal their true thoughts and feelings to prospective partners.

"It's hard to write about yourself. It's how you self-identify, not how the world sees you, when you write your profile," she stated.

Good ideas include naming specific places that are special to an online dater, as this will impress readers.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801692363-ADNFCR
