Online dating is incredibly popular these days and many people use it as a method to find love.

One of the reasons it has continued to grow could be that it is easy to do from many locations.

Mobile consultant and digital trainer at the IDM Rob Thurner says approximately 28 per cent of all internet browsing now takes place on smartphones, offering a convenient alternative to PCs.

"With faster processing power, bigger screens and touch screen, we are able to do things on our mobile that ordinarily we would have to wait to do," Mr Thurner claims.

Social media has also affected this trend, with many people interacting for hours using their smartphones, rather than a desktop computer.

Those who are not very knowledgeable about such matters may be pleased to hear of a new programme being set up in Northwich, where residents can learn how to use online dating and other web tools.
