Online dating is a much more common way to meet Mr Right than it used to be.
This is the opinion of Helen Thompson, who is having her attempts to find love filmed and turned into TV advertisements.
Ms Thompson – who runs her own kite surfing company on the Isle of Tiree – told the Daily Record that her mates convinced her to give it a go.
"I have got a lot of friends who've been really successful with internet dating and they said, 'What have you got to lose?'," she added.
Realising that the right person is never going to just walk past, Ms Thompson decided to take the bull by the horns.
Although she has yet to find her prince charming, the young lady is adamant that she will continue to try online dating after ignoring her personal life for the past three years in order to build her business.
