Online dating is a very popular medium and is going to continue to grow for years to come, it has been suggested.

In a post on Popular Hobbies, Max Chapel said there can be little doubt that internet courtship is here to stay.

The expert noted: "All indications show that the next few years could see as many as 50 million people worldwide logging onto professional online dating services."

He explained research has shown online dating services currently attract more traffic than any other area of the web market.

Many people are embracing the forum as they begin to understand the net can provide a quicker way for individuals to forge relationships and make new friends, Mr Chapel added.

A recent article on Apache PowWow, which is the official newspaper of Tyler Junior College, suggested the world wide web allows singletons to cast their nets further and contact other users, regardless of how near or far they may happen to be.
