Single soldiers may soon want to jump on the online dating bandwagon as the medium could become the most common way to meet people in the future, it has been suggested.

Writing for the Duquesne Duke, Alison Keene noted the method may become 'the norm' in years to come as it is rapidly becoming a primary avenue through which singletons can hook up.

Duquesne psychology professor Roger Brooke observed the world wide web has helped to facilitate the creation of communities where people who have never met before are able to interact with one another.

Freshman business student at the learning institute Kate Davis predicted the medium will be used a lot more in the coming years.

Her boyfriend Jack Workmeister said: "It's the logical progression of human interaction."

In a recent article for One India, Denise Baptiste suggested singles should try not to appear too desperate when trying to find a Valentine's Day partner over the internet.
