Online dating is a very "convenient" way for people to meet.

This is according to Ryan D'Souza, a 24-year-old executive, who told the Times of India that it is a fantastic way to socialise.

"Having a hectic lifestyle has its limitations, you hardly get time for yourself, let alone your friends," he added.

Because of this, Mr D'Souza sees web-based dating as a perfectly acceptable way to find that special someone and hot soldiers may also be tempted to use portals for this reason.

Marketing professional Divya Shankar echoed what Mr D'Souza had to say, claiming it has become a much more acceptable pastime.

No longer considered taboo, she remarked even older generations are open to its benefits.

David Evans, editor of OnlineDatingPost.com, recently said those writing a profile should not show too much of their hand.

This is because these types of disclosures are best made face-to-face.
