Those who are interested in dating soldiers through online matchmaking websites may find the standard of men they meet over the internet is higher than in the real world.

This is according to a writer going by the name of Dater X, who said in an article for thefrisky.com she is a "big fan of online dating".

She said she found around half of the men she goes on dates with were found on the web and claimed the guys she meets in cyberspace "tend to be much higher quality" than their real-world counterparts.

According to the anonymous individual, one of the best things about online dating is the ability to read about what they do and what they were interested in before deciding to meet.

"You can see if their sensibilities are in line with yours, and weed out anyone who will be an obvious no-go," she remarked.

Earlier this month, Krista Bryce of the Nanaimo Daily News said there have been numerous online dating success stories, but warned those who try it out should be prepared for some setbacks.
