Online dating is an exciting opportunity to meet somebody new, but it can also be a daunting task.

Ann Friedman, writing for the New Yorker, has explained her belief that arriving at an online dating site shows a list of potential partners as though they are part of a menu.

She noted the experience can be a little "daunting" and it is important to ignore some of the "creepy" users.

Of course, it takes plenty of time and patience to make the most of web dating, as people will need to meticulously sift through the list of users until they are left with their ideal matches.

Ms Friedman quoted figures from Duke University, which suggest there are slightly more men on online dating sites than women.

But that is not to say it is impossible for anybody to find love after putting in the hours via an online dating platform.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801549785-ADNFCR
