Searching for love on the internet is becoming a popular option with all types of people, from those in their teens to others in their 60s and 70s.

The Jambar has told how students in the US are one of the growing categories of online dating enthusiasts, with 20,000 registering to one particular platform for academics.

Youngstown State University student Taylor Hill explained her reasons for turning to the net, stating: "I don't spend a lot of time on campus. Computers are just really accessible."

Across the world, more and more people are realising that using online dating sites brings them into contact with thousands of individuals they would otherwise not have met and gives them a chance to date in a non-pressured environment.

As such, it is no surprise to see even the most social groups – such as students – ditch more conventional dating methods in order to log on to their chosen web portal.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801546965-ADNFCR
