Single soldiers wanting to find love on the internet may increase their chances of success by avoiding the most common faux pas associated with the medium.

Online dating expert Amy Schoen has pointed out some of the main mistakes users often make in regards to their personal profile.

The specialist noted many singletons do not choose the most appropriate and attractive photographs for the service and revealed she advises around 90 per cent of her clients to change the image they have selected.

She advised subscribers to not write in a demanding tone, nor provide personal details that are too brief.

"Be playful and descriptive. Invite your readers into the experience you mention," the professional explained.

She added people should not be limited to the distances they are prepared to travel for liaisons, as that special someone may not necessarily reside nearby.

Relationships guru David Kamua recently advised online daters to pursue an active approach to the medium in order for them to get the best results, RNIF.com reported.
