Online daters ‘need to stand out from the crowd’

Single soldiers using online dating to woo prospective partners should try and make themselves stand out from the crowd in order for them to be selected above other users.

This is because Karen Gordon, writing for Ballston-Virginia Square Patch, has advised singletons to pick out and promote a few specific personality traits to draw attention to their profiles.

The expert advised it may be more rewarding for a person to describe how caring they can be, such as always remembering birthdays and choosing great gifts, rather than simply referring to themselves as "thoughtful".

She observed people should refrain from bland descriptions such as being "nice" and "funny", adding: "It might be a little more revealing to describe how you are so spontaneous that you once bought a last minute ticket to Fiji."
