Lots of us crave a big fat burger – like the ones pictured here – now and again – but how would you feel about tackling one that's not just fat, but a colossal 1.6 metres high?

That's five feet four inches of juicy burger goodness, for those who prefer imperial measures.

And a burger this huge was recently created by John Clarkson, a takeaway boss at Lancashire's Mister Eater’s Eating Emporium.

It should also be noted that this 30,000 calorie burger also featured pies – hence it's name, the 'pie-scraper' – presumably a tribute to its tasty goodness and the world's tallest buildings.

"I’ve researched to see if anyone has created a taller burger but no one has," according to Mr Clarkson.

Having already created a burger housed inside another meaty treat, he decided it was time to try putting other things into the heart of burgers, he has explained, like a chip buttie, a pork pie or a pizza.

In the towering burger Mr Clarkson created, items like a bacon sandwich and even a spaghetti bolognese are all part of the event.

"I can honestly say the pizza burger is delicious," commented Corinne Clarkson, 39, who, along with her husband, put her efforts into making the unique and very, very tall burger.

The whole thing has been proudly displayed at Mr Clarkson's shop.

Other recent fast food news recently emerged in the form of a OnePoll.com study which showed that Americans, on average, spend over $1,200 – or nearly £710 – on fast food yearly. Burgers were one of the most common fast food meals people in the US were found to indulge in in the study.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801718043-ADNFCR
