Members of the armed forces who are perhaps a little older than the usual dating age may be wise to log online in the hope of finding love.

The Charlotte Observer notes that while a generation ago it was unusual for older people to openly seek out a love match, the internet is opening doors and providing them with a place to meet.

Chuck and Jane Ellen Doolittle are one such couple. Both went online in the hope of finding companionship and were happy to find much more.

"It was like I was 16 again. I had butterflies in my stomach," explains Ms Doolittle.

Elly Robinson, manager of Australian Family Relationships Clearing House, recently told ANI that those who are keen to get the ball rolling on the dating front may wish to use the internet to find love.

She stated that relationships tend to move more quickly online because it is easy to exchange information and inhibitions in general are lowered.
