Help for Heroes has benefited to the tune of £600 after a nursery held its Christmas fair in its name.

St Annes children's nursery in Lytham St Annes saw hundreds of people attend its seasonal festival, and some of the money raised will be sent to the Hospice Heroes appeal, reports the Lytham St Annes Express.

The rest of the cash will be given to Summerfield, which is a local children's hospice and requires funds to improve facilities for patients and their families.

Adrienna Taylor, deputy manager of the hospice, said: "Thanks to everyone who came along to the event. We hold a summer fair every year but this is the first one at Christmas and we hope that others will follow."

Help for Heroes might be hoping that a number of similar events are held across the country in the coming weeks so that it receives a financial boost ahead of Christmas.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801669448-ADNFCR
