New underwear to beat smell of flatulence

Sharing a bed with a partner who breaks wind a little too often can be an unpleasant experience.

If you feel as though you would love nothing more than to stop your spouse creating a smell in bed or around the house, you might just want to invest in a new pair of pants for them.

Designers have come up with Shreddies underwear, which use Zorflex – a substance that is contained within chemical warfare suits – to prevent nasty smells making it into the air.

Instead, the pants are capable of filtering odours that are 200 times stronger than the average emission, meaning even those with a bad case of flatulence should not have an impact on anyone else.

A spokesperson for Shreddies told NY Daily News: "Flatulence seriously affects millions of people every day and since 2008 Shreddies has been helping those affected increase their quality of life."

The representative added that as well as negating the effect of those with wind, the underwear is designed to help people overcome serious conditions such as Crohn's, IBS and food intolerance.
