Nearly £700 has been raised for Help for Heroes after a gaming day was organised in Gleno, Northern Ireland (NI).

Arkham Gaming Centre was behind the event, which saw various attractions and stalls on offer for all of the family, the Larne Times reports.

As well as this, military vehicle and memorabilia displays were held.

Gleno Community Association, Gleno Young Farmers, Translink and the Carrickfergus Sea Cadets all chipped in to make sure the day ran smoothly.

"Thanks also go to the vendors and traders who provided stalls and food to those who enjoyed the day and to anyone who helped in any way," the paper stated.

The Wireless Mystery Theatre also put on a special performance of The 39 Steps, while The Stompin' Hepcatz gave a show too.

It comes after a recent charity gig held in Stornoway raised in excess of £1,000 for Help for Heroes, the Stornoway Gazette reported.
