A musical barbecue is set to take place in Worcester to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity.

The spectacle will also collect funds for the Royal British Legion (RBL), Worcester News reports.

A number of performers are set to appear at the event, including the Powick Choir, the Upton Youth Band and the Powick School Orchestra, among others.

As well as the musicians, there will also be a charity auction, raffle and classic cars display.

It will be taking place at the Old Bush in Callow End on Sunday July 18th.

John Mason, publicity officer for RBL, noted the local residents "want to show our support as a community and … we have a number of young men and a few women now, out serving in Afghanistan".

It recently emerged a group of celebrities, including Coronation Street and Shameless actors, have recorded the Queen song No One But You to raise cash for troops serving overseas.
