Motorist becomes online hit after failed parking attempt

An online video showing a woman taking more than half an hour to park her car in a street in Belfast has gone viral.

A group of students in a house in Holyland in the south of the city spotted the female motorist struggling to come to terms with the parallel parking task in front of her.

They immediately decided to capture the incident on camera and the clip has now attracted more than a million views on YouTube from people all over the world.

Viewers hear the young academics encourage and cheer the woman as she gets closer to completing the surprisingly tricky challenge.

It took more than 30 minutes for her to finally get her vehicle in line with the others parked at the side of the street and 15 minutes of this was filmed.

One of the students, Conor Garry, told UTV: "One of the boys went down to help her out and she was having none of it."
