A convoy of more than 70 motorbikes is set to tour Wales later this summer in order to support Combat Stress.

The group will complete more than 700 miles over three days as part of the Motorcycle Tour of Wales event, reports the Daily Post.

Organiser Alan Sullivan said it was important for something to be done to raise money for an extremely good cause that he believes is currently underfunded.

He explained: "60 to 70 bikers in convoy is one hell of a sight to see. We will be met by Simon Weston when we reach Cardiff and after last year a lot of people are really looking forward to us coming down."

A year ago, more than £15,000 was raised for Combat Stress thanks to the ride and a special charity concert.

Tour president Lord Barry Jones was on hand this week to officially launch this year's challenge.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801707847-ADNFCR
