Mobility scooter ‘gets pimped’

I reckon I'll be looking to grow old disgracefully and continue to have fun.

That's why I have nothing but respect for the people who have 'pimped' a mobility scooter so that it now comes with a 140cc petrol engine and go-kart wheels.

It can travel at speeds of up to 60 mph and you can just imagine the enjoyment that old fellas could have on it.

Cynthia Ransome, Doncaster Council communities officer, admitted it was a "feat of engineering", but people should only be allowed to use it at a licensed race track.

It seems that if locals want to have a bit of fun on the machine they are going to have to find a large piece of private land so residents are not annoyed by the noise. 

I can't help but think that this craze could really catch on and you could even have wacky races if there are enough of the vehicles.
