A new calendar described as "tasteful but cheeky" and with a 1950s-inspired military theme has been launched in aid of soldier charity Help for Heroes.
Dubbed 'Doing It Military Style', the calendar is the brainchild of a group of girls from Barry in Glamorgan who wanted to do their bit for lads fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Barry and District News reports.
Project manager Shani Phillips said: "We have never done anything like this before, but we want to help … All the proceeds will go to [Help for Heroes] and it will make an ideal Christmas present."
The ages of the ladies posing in the pictures range from 22 to 35 and they hope the end result will appeal to males from 16 to 40.
Meanwhile, a bring and buy sale held recently at Headless Cross raised more than £500 for Help for Heroes, the Redditch Advertiser reported.
The event was organised by resident Frank Applin and was attended by the town's mayor Kath Banks.
