A military charity has donated kit used by Prince Harry to support victims of a Nepalese disaster.

The disaster claimed thousands of lives and left many people homeless and displaced. In order to support victims of the disaster, Walking With The Wounded, has donated all excess kit from their South Pole expedition in 2013 to a Nepalese appeal by fellow Norfolk based charity, Nepal In Need.

Walking with The Wounded was set up to help former military soldiers to find employment.

The kit was used by Prince Harry and three teams of wounded servicemen and women to trek to the geographic South Pole in November 2013.

Speaking about the developments, Edward Parker, co-founder and chief executive of Walking With The Wounded, said: “What’s happening in Nepal is devastating and I just hope the kit we have donated will help some of the many people suffering as a result of the earthquake on Saturday.”

However, more kit and equipment is needed to help those who are still suffering the impacts of the Nepalese disaster.

Catherine Blaiklock, founder of the charity Nepal in Need, issued an urgent plea for people to donate tents.

The tents will then be issued to the devastated region by trustees of the charity.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801801392-ADNFCR
