Five men have had a military-inspired tattoo inked on their bodies as part of a charity fundraiser.

The group of males were given the emblem for Swags Mag – a publication targeting members of the armed forces and their families – and all the cash collected will go to Pilgrim Bandits.

According to the Doncaster Free Press, the tattooing action took place at Skellow Grange Club.

It was part of a family fun day organised by Debi Gregory, who also took to the stage to perform under her alter ego Rose The Forces Sweetheart.

Paratrooper Ben Parkinson, who hails from Bessacarr, Doncaster, is a patron of the third sector group.

He lost both of his legs while serving in Afghanistan and has been dubbed the most seriously injured serviceman to survive the battlefield.

Mr Parkinson said he decided to support the charity because "they don't do sympathy and when they say get up to the top of that hill you get up there as quickly as possible".
