A man admitted to setting fire to his own house because he was tired of cleaning it, according to new findings.

Anthony Graeme Humphrey in Victoria was arrested by Warrnambool police and charged with arson.

A police investigation found that Mr Humphrey, who is 42 years old had argued with his partner over the household chores.

He was then charged with damage and assault when the authorities arrived upon the scene.

It was also found that Mr Humphreys had violated a restraining order after he went back to the house and then set fire to it.

During questioning, he reported that he was fed up of cleaning the house.

The incident is not the only strange case of arson that had taken place in Australia.

In 2007, a woman by the name of Anne Buckingham came forward and told authorities that her uncle, Abe Saffron, a notorious crime figure arranged for a fire to be started at Luna Park Sydney on a ride called the Ghost Train.

Luna Park is one of the most prominent amusement parks in the country and for over 40 years the exact cause of the inferno, which claimed seven lives, had remained a total mystery.

Ms Buckingham said that her uncle had ordered the blaze as he had been intent on buying Luna Park and the fire was his way of trying to gain control of the park’s lease.

Although she very quickly recanted her statement, 35 years down the line, it still remains a mystery.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801801539-ADNFCR
