Man fined after drinking human toe

A man in Canada has gone through with a bizarre tradition that involved him drinking a human toe that had been dipped in whisky.

The Yukon ritual was performed by a man in Dawson City who downed the body part as part of a glass also containing the spirit.

It has certainly not gone down particularly well online, with many people around the world expressing just how queasy they felt after hearing the news.

The idea of the tradition is to drink the whisky without swallowing the toe, but those who do ingest the body part are typically given a penalty.

In the case in Dawson City, which occurred at the Downtown Hotel, the man accidentally swallowed the toe and was forced to pay a fine of $500 (£307).

One question that crosses the mind of many people is where the toes used for the ritual come from, and the answer is that they are donated by people who lose them in accidents or to ailments.
