Man drives car down flight of stairs by accident

Driving is an activity that requires supreme concentration.

When people are behind the wheel, they have to make sure they are alert at all times so they can react to any unforeseen circumstances.

Unfortunately, this was not the case with some plonker in Paris, France, who got himself into a bit of trouble after turning off for an underground road only to discover it was in fact a flight of stairs.

While he thought he was entering a car park, he was actually trying to gain access to Chaussee d'Antin La Fayette station.

Luckily for him and other members of the public, he was able to bring the car to a stop before it tumbled down the stairs.

However, the vehicle was left perilously perched and the police had to get involved to recover the motor and make sure no one ended up hurt.

I bet he'll read signs very intently from now on.
