Police call centres have had to deal with some very strange calls on duty, from people complaining that their kebab is taking too long to be cooked to one woman who was convinced that a boiler engineer had stolen some of her heat because her house was never as warm as it used to be.

However, one 911 call in America has come close to topping them all, after it was claimed that the distressed gentleman believed burglars not to have stolen anything, but rather messed with his beloved games console.

In a bid to show that emergency numbers should only be used for real emergencies, Alexandria Police Department released a statement that claimed a local man had dialled 911 when he realised that the settings on his PlayStation 4 had apparently been tampered with against his will.

The Alexandria Echo Press reports that the man believed someone had broken into his house, and despite having nothing to gain from doing so, had changed the settings on the PlayStation. Nothing had been stolen from the house, but that didn't stop the rather imaginative individual from contacting police.

In other strange news, radio listeners in Chile were left with a bad taste in their mouth after having to listen to a strange interaction this past week. Callers were asked what they would be willing to do in order to attend one of the country's biggest music events.

That's where things got a little bit out of hand. DJ Paul Hip was on hand to hand out the prize of two tickets to the event to the lucky woman who had just licked whipped cream off his backside.

The radio station later issued an apology, which said: "We are sorry for our mistake on accepting that challenge.

"We hope that you understand that this was during a playful context and there wasn’t bad intentions, and intention to offend or denigrate our audience."ADNFCR-2867-ID-801767094-ADNFCR
