Man advertises lost cat he stole while drunk

A man in the US has hit the headlines after he posted an advert online to highlight the fact he was in possession of a cat that he stole as part of a drunken prank.

The unnamed individual visited the Craiglist website to draw attention to the feline, as he was keen to find its owner.

But his post added that he actually picked up the animal while under the influence of alcohol in an accidental theft.

"Possibly stole someone's cat when I was drunk last night (Chico)," the individual is quoted by the Metro as saying, adding the cat is "very frisky" and black in colour with "sleepy eyes".

He went on to suggest that if anyone is missing a cat called Django, they should contact him as soon as possible.

The man admitted he thought the cat was a stray when he first set eyes on it after a night of drinking and only found its collar as he looked for a glass of water the next morning.
