A man from Lybster has announced he will spend two days this month collecting money for Help for Heroes and he wants as many others as possible to join him.

Peter Cowin will stand outside the Tesco store in Thurso on September 14th and 15th in a bid to raise money for the good cause, reports the John O'Groat Journal.

He is hoping that other people will join him to make the event a memorable one as the store is hosting a special collection day.

More than 800 Tesco stores across the UK will be taking part by running their own collections and adding to the £160 million Help for Heroes has generated since it was founded in 2007.

Bryan Parry, chief executive officer and co-founder of the charity, said: "Help for Heroes is all about doing your bit and this event is a wonderful example of people rallying support and having a great deal of fun while they raise money for a wonderful cause."ADNFCR-2867-ID-801632572-ADNFCR
