Has your satnav ever fooled you?

I know from my own experience that the electronic device can be infuriating and blindly following its instructions can lead to problems.

That said, I have never ended getting a heavy goods vehicle stuck down an alley.

But this is what happened to a hapless driver in Bruton, Somerset, as he tried to deliver soft drinks to a local shop.

According to the Daily Mail, the man reversed into an alleyway in search of a parking space and continued to push through despite it being very tight.

Because of the incline, once he got stuck he was unable to free the truck and it had to be left overnight.

Mike Clifford, landlord at the nearby Sun Inn, said: "This event was the talk of the town and the driver got ripped to pieces by the locals when he came into the pub."

It took a rescue team six hours to release the vehicle the next day.
